An Analysis On Technological Factors Of Public Responsibility Consciousness

Responsibility is one of the fundamental features of humanity and one of the symbols to distinguish from other living creatures. Jonas, master of responsibility ethics, states that human being is the sole living creature who is able to be responsible for their behaviors, and only human beings are granted the concept of responsibility----responsibility consciousness. Responsibility is often associated with ethics, personality and other human qualities, and hence, an important issue in the domain of humanity.Whereas, when the development of technology has had a tremendous impact on daily life of human beings, responsibility consciousness is inevitably engaged in the sight domain of technology: it necessitates new demands for responsibility consciousness of human beings and enriches the internal quality of responsibility consciousness. And meanwhile it influences the strength and weakness of responsibility consciousness of human beings and enhances technology route to it. The thesis adopts an approach of theoretical analysis, endeavors to explore this issue in light of technology sight domain. And the thesis also illustrates further the technology background, meaning, principles and application so as to increase the public awareness of responsibility consciousness with the joint effort of technology and humanity.The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter deals with the background of the generation of responsibility consciousness against technology sight domain----post-modern period of technology. In this chapter, the thesis demonstrates the issue of responsibility originated from the negative effect of technology and hence, an objective inevitability and the self-evident law of"the only existence of human beings in the world".The second chapter restricts the core concept of"public responsibility consciousness"and interprets public responsibility consciousness as public individual in its social system. And public individual has to hold responsible attitudes towards its natural environmental system, social environmental system and other elements under the sub-systems for their survival, in addition, active interaction with major elements within the systems and maintain a dynamic balance and development state. The public acknowledgement, acceptance and final action help structure public responsibility consciousness of post-modern period.The third chapter analyzes the causes of public responsibility consciousness of technology and concludes that the concrete effect is determined by the internal and external factors. The internal factor is the self-cause of technology system, including technology inventions, artificial material state technology and technology application, among which artificial material state technology is the factor of matter, while technology invention and application is the factor of human beings. The external factor is the social macro- system of technology system existence, and the accumulation of the economic base and superstructure, belonging to environmental factor, because eventually it is determined by the economic base, and can be classified into human factor. Among many factors, matter factor is the basic and human factor is the key.Chapter four analyzes the means and route of public responsibility consciousness based on a theory of the impact of technology system on technology effectiveness. Targeting technology invention and effectiveness, this chapter puts forward a concept of enhancing responsibility technology, weakening the non-responsibility application of technology and points out in the meantime public participation is the concrete route to promote public responsibility consciousness.Chapter five proposes the promotion of public responsibility consciousness cannot be resorted to the solution of technology route aiming at the influence of social macro-system on technology effectiveness. With the combination of technology spirit and humanity spirit, we are able to realize the merging of technology and human beings and promote public responsibility consciousness and are responsible for the being of human and nature.
