As one of the words which are widely used in our daily life, the study of idioms is gradually becoming the hot spots in the academic world. But the argument of idioms exists all the while. At the same time, as a part of phraseology which contains abundant Chinese cultural features, idioms have been the important and difficult points all the time in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This article consists of four parts.The first part is the brief comments, in which the reasons for the choice of the title, the purpose and methods taken of the research. Also the studying fruits of the predecessors are summarized.In the second part, the semantic features and pragmatic characteristics are summed up on the basis of predecessors'research achievements, which regulate the following parts.The third part is the discussion of idioms in the Chinese teaching as a foreign language. Foreign psychological achievements are used to analyze the biases which appear, when foreign students studying Chinese use idioms and find out the reasons for the biases.On the basis of the above, in the fourth part several teaching methods are listed in order to improve the education of Chinese idioms in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. As for how to melt Chinese traditional culture with the education of Chinese idioms in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, some reference suggestions are given.
