This thesis analysis Yang Enshou's ideological characteristics and artistic features through research his works. The preface represents research status of Yang Enshou nowadays, and addresses the research background. The first chapter tells Yang's opera activities in his life. He watch plays at many places as religious venues, government agencies, hotels, private residences, theater and so on. And those plays were shown for entertaining Gods, official banquets, celebration, individual feasts, and fixed performance in theater. The relation between Yang Enshou and performers is also concerned. The third chapter induces Yang Enshou's ideological characteristics. He wrote for expressing own idea, not for showing. His works indicate the anger of low status, setbacks, and show his acceptance of mainstream ideology. The forth chapter shows artistic characteristics. The writer's aim is to express his own idea, but he created the structure and characters too simply. There is a unique phenomenon among his works, as the actors perform women and actresses perform men. This thesis figures out it and tells the reason. The last part is the chronology, which makes Yang's experience more clearly. I think it will do some help to the further study.
