The culture industries have boomed worldwide since the mid-20th century, which arose in cities especially in metropolitan areas. Meanwhile, it has promoted urban development significantly. During the 20th century, Los Angeles has developed into a metropolis rapidly. As a center of culture and entertainment in U.S., Los Angeles has well-developed culture industries. This paper discusses the condition offered by Los Angeles to develop the culture industries, and the important role culture industries played in its urban development, in order to find the interaction between the two.The framework of this paper is as follows:The introduction part starts from the significance for the research and the present research situation in this field.
