This dissertation is focus on the the incident of Pingdi Chang, which caused by destroy of Baqi soldier during the emperor of Yongzheng period. It is composed of three parts. The first part analyzes the reasons and impact of the incident of Pingdi Chang in the fourth year of the reign of emperor Yongzheng, as well as how it went on.The incident happened because of the closed relationship between the garrison of Baqi and the grain merchant——the soldiers destroyed the grain shops opened by local authorities as this is against them, but not because of the poverty of the soldiers, which is generally agreed by many scholars. The second part reviews how the government in Qing dynasty wiped out the separatist regime in Guangdong province. The government started to resolve the problem of the rebellion in three regions in Guangdong before Shangzhi-xin's revolt. But it didn't complete immediately. There were still some soldiers acted illegally even during the period of emperor Yongzheng. The incident of Pingdi Chang offered a chance for the government to solve the problem successfully. Many local officers, such as the governor of both Guangdong and Guangxi, the governor of Guangdong, the general of Guangzhou and so on involved in this incident. The government of Qing dynasty could resolve the problem at last because the government of Qing dynasty could control the frontier successfully, and the emperor of Yongzheng could assign the officers appropriately.
