| This paper expatiates Aristotle's justice ideas first and studies the philosophical foundation of Aristotle's justice thinking based on two dimensions. One dimension is the "good", it is a city framework when Aristotle discusses justice. He believes that human is a political animal innateness and the individual is inseparable from the city to achieve justice. While the city's justice is city's good , human does activities in line with justice within the framework of city so as to attain the highest good (that is, happiness). Therefore, the ultimate pursuit of justice is "good". Another dimension is the "rationality", Aristotle believes that justice is a kind of modest quality, and this quality is decided by the logos of the soul. It is nous (reason), feeling, desire of the soul that dominate the practice of justice and truth. Nous (rationality) plays a decisive role of the three human comes to "good" beginning at genius, habit and rationality. If they are harmonious among each other, it will be conforming with nature, if not in harmony, we should act rationality as guidelines. so "rationality" is inherent spirit of justice . That being the case, we think if "good"and "rationality" are philosophy foundations of Aristotle's justice ideas? It is still too early. Aristotle further argues that "God" exists by using "good" and "rationality" in "Metaphysics". "God" is rationality and the highest good, it is the purpose of human's pursuit for ever. It is a reality and existence , the "God" that Aristotle says this is not the "God" of religion , but the "God" of philosophy. Therefore, we believe that philosophical foundation of Aristotle's justice thinking is not "good" and "rationality" but "God". |
