Wong Karwai is one of the most eye-catching contemporary Chinese film director, and his film is a unique landscape of political , economic, social and cultural context of Hong Kong since the 1980s. His films are very popular in mainland China, Taiwan and even Western countries. From the first film he directed in 1988 "As Tears Go By" to "My Blueberry Nights" in 2006. There are 10 films available. These films got many awards including Hong Kong Film Awards, Cannes Film Festival Best Director award, showed the charm and strength of Chinese film in international film field.In Wong Karwai's film world, he constructed a unique "Wong Karwai style movie aesthetics" successfully by virtue of its extreme visual images, expression full of post-modern means and the ethos of the city crowd. The unique and unified characteristics reflected in his films are indeed worthy of study and discussion.This article will mainly focus on the 10 films directed by Wong Karwai. At first the author will review the cultural content of his film which influenced by Hong Kong culture context, followed by analysis the text meaning of Wong Karwai's films in the framework of post-modernist theory, trying to show Wong Karwai's creative features and the charm of his film, finally analysis narrative strategy of his films from the unique concept of time and space, narrative structure, narrative techniques and image elements, so as to combine noumenon study and cultural study together.
