【Objective】To investigate psychological problems of rural pupils and the present situation of 14 kinds of children's personal traits.From the aspects of pupils' basic self-condition,family environment,and psychological dominated source,we discuss the influencing elements of their psychological health and personal traits.The theoretical evidence is provided for the pupil' education of psychological health,and diagnosis and prevention of psychological problems.【Method】Adopt stratified,clustered,and random sampling method,four elementary schools were randomly chosen from Changqing district with the agreement of school authorities and students.Among the schools,2 classes from each grade.There are 20 classes and 901 students attended the test.The ages of the pupils range from 6 to 13.the average age is 9.90 years old.Boys:440 persons(48.8%); girls:461persons(51.2%).The Mental Health Rate Scale for Pupil(MHRSP), Parenting Locus of Control Scale(PLOC) and self-made questionnaire were used.Among of them,505 persons were investigated by 14 kinds of Craft Personality Questionnaire(CPQ).Coding all the materials,setting up database with Excel 2003, adopting SPSS16.0 to make analysis,and deal with the results with statistic depiction, analysis of variance,x~2 test,logistic regression and pearson analysis.【Results】The investigation shows that the incidence rate of learning disorder for elementary school students in rural areas is 10.3%,emotional disturbance 4.8%, character disability 2.7%,social handicap 1.9%,moral character limitation 1.7%,bad habits 2.0%,behavior 7.4%,and special disability 1.4%.The psychological problems mainly display on learning disorder(boys 12%,girls 8.7%),behavior handicap (boys9.1%,girls 5.9%),emotional disturbance(boys 4.3%,girls 5.2%),character handicap(boys 2.0%,girls 3.9%) and so on.The statistic analysis data showed there is no very significant in genders on the incidence rate of psychological problems in rural pupils(p>0.05).Among the grades,there is significant(P<0.05).The incidence rate of the students of Grade four is higher than the other grades on 7 aspects of psychological problems,except learning disorder 8.90%lower than the others(Grade 2:12.5%,grade 3:11.5%,grade 5:11.5%,grade 6:8.1%).It shows that the psychological problems of Grade 4 is serious and should be paid more attention.On character disability,there is no very significant(p>0.05),whether failing to go up to the next grade,whether having personal advantages,there is very significant on the other seven dimensions(p<0.01).The study grades is the main element on leaning disorder,emotional disturbance and behavior handicap.The parents' level of education,occupation, attitude to the child's education,care to the kid and the degree of family harmony, and whether the child has brother or sister,are related to their psychological healthy. (p<0.05)Through variance analysis and t-test,we found that the elements of Warmth, Relaxation,Rule Consciousness,Sensitivity,Privateness,Perfectionist exist significant in different grades,whether being monitor,whether having personal specialties(p<0.05),and there is very significant on genders(p<0.01) and have nothing to do with whether they fail to go up to the next grade.The parents' educating attitude and method and the degree of being cared and family harmony are the main elements influencing on the pupils.The parents' level of education has a great effect on the kids' intelligence.The parents' occupation has no effect on the pupils' personality(p>0.05).【Conclusion】1.The main psychological problems of rural pupils are about leaning disorder, emotional disturbance and behavior handicap.The incidence rate of leaning disability is comparatively higher.2.There exist serious psychological problems in Grade 4 students. 3.There is very significant on genders in the personal traits of pupils.4.Study scores and family element are two main factors of the pupils' psychological health.
