Research On Perry Anderson's Academic Thought

Perry Anderson's academic thought and achievements played a very important part in British Marxism historiography. Placing Anderson's historiography into the background of the mid-20th century British social transformation and the development of British Marxism history school, the author made a further and careful study on Anderson's academic thought and achievements, showing Anderson's academic thought's connotation and features, also explaining Anderson's academic thought and achievements'important role and influences in British Marxism historiography's history.There are seven parts in the thesis including the introduction,five chapters and the conclusion. The second and the third chapters are the center of this thesis.In the introduction, the author elaborated the situations of the external and internal research on Anderson's academic thought,the author's purports,design of the thesis and the main viewpoints.In the first chapter, the author explained the political and academic background of Anderson's historiography. According to the mid-20th century British society cultural context, the author analyzed the historical agent of Anderson's academic thought's characteristics and nature, also outlined Anderson's academic achievements.In the second chapter, the author explained Anderson's historic thought. Having examined Anderson's academic fruits of research on culture,Feudalism,Europe forms of society history and the formation of the Britain working class'consciousness, the author showed his historic thought's connotation and unique interpretations.In the third chapter,the author explained Anderson's sociology thought. The author made a further study on Anderson's academic thought of European Left Party politics,Western Marxism,Liberation and Marxism, and elaborated his sociology thought's connotation and its features.In the forth chapter, the author did research on the academic reformation movement initiated by Anderson and its influences. Putting the academic reformation movement under the background of British academic culture, the author mainly explained the innovation Anderson and his companions took on British academic culture and its profound prospect in British's academic culture history.In the fifth chapter, the author mainly explained Anderson's academic thought's values and influences to Chinese historiography in different aspects.In the conclusion, the author summed up Anderson's academic thought and showed its errors.
