Andersen's life experiences are deeply rooted in his fairy tales."Put himself in the fairy tales."can be the best summary of the spirit of his fairy tales. Andersen's fairy tales are modern, christian and personal. During the pre-Andersen age, most of the European fairy tales which always end with such a sentence as"The prince and the princess lived together happily ever after"are plain, and popular. These fairy tales reflected the happiness of people's life. During the post-Andersen age, fairy tales writers put the facts in people's real life into their fairy tales. To sum up, Andersen's fairy tales, with its modern spirit of"putting himself into the fairy tales", made a farewell to the classical fairy tales and made the transition come true. As a link, Anderson will always be the brightest star in the sky of fairy tales.
