By describing the development of graffiti mural and recalling its rising background in America, the essay tries to discuss its back reasons in politics and economy, analyse the meaning in reality of public spaces to the more public graffiti mural art, state the inevitability of graffiti art into public spaces. The public nature of mural and the personality of its artist are contradictory. It's difficult for the mural painter to find their views the sense of belonging in public spaces unless they become trunk stream and public views. Once they do so, graffiti mural would lose its core spirit more or less. The essay confines its discussion to this problem and tries to find feasible solution. As the development of times, the city administrater has also found the value of graffiti mural to the city landscape is getting wider and wider. Some cities has set legal graffiti zone, more and more commercial graffiti mural has arosen, whether traditional painters want to see or not, the boundary of graffiti mural and mainstream public mural is blurring. The art of graffiti is going to diversity and gradually accepted by mainstream.
