Study On The Perspective Effects Of Graffiti Mural In Public Space

Graffiti mural is a product of modern art. In modern urban public space in the form of public art. Closest to popular art, it is quite different from traditional aesthetics in that it differs from traditional mural art but is inextricably linked with traditional wall paintings. As a new art form, it meets with controversy at the very start.This paper analyzes some graffiti murals in the public space of different parts of the world, meaning to reveal their visual and psychological effect on the audience. As "rebellion" in modern psychology is an important mental activity of young people and just coincides with the original "rebelling" spirit in graffiti murals, these artists are mostly young people. Graffiti is one type of hip-hop, so modern youngsters enjoy it a lot. Its cresting form differs from that of traditional murals, which promotes re-thinking on a variety of modern art forms and on traditional aesthetic models so as to enrich our public living space. Today in our world of multi-culture, such art form as graffiti mural springs up in public space of many cities in the world. Thus the rapid development of graffiti murals has become the focus for many sociologists, psychologists and estheticians.This paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the history of the development of graffiti mural as well as the present situation, analyzes its social and cultural background and further produces the relationship with modern art. The second chapter is about the graffiti mural in public space, analyzing its relationship with urban public apace and its existing value. The third chapter, as the focus of this paper, specifically analyzes and illustrates the visual effects on people in public space of cities through constituting the form of adoption, spiritual awareness and cultural transmission. Besides, the paper illustrates the existing impact of modern graffiti mural on people's psychological cognition and aesthetics. And at its end, the paper mentions the new visual impact on graffiti murals.
