On The Narrative Nature Of Public Murals

Since ancient times,public murals have been shouldering the function of "cultivating and helping others" to spread ideas and transmit energy by means of drawing.Therefore,the content and narrative style of the public murals need the artists' careful consideration,and the "narrative nature" of the pictures is particularly important.Through the analysis of some classic cases from ancient to modern times,this paper refines some narrative modes of public murals,and emphasizes the significance and social value of "narrativity" in public murals today.The author believes that narratology is one of the important characteristics and attributes of the public fresco,which plays an important role in the fresco art and is irreplaceable.There are three kinds of narrative modes in the public fresco: the time and space of narration,the characters and plots of narration,the structure and visual orientation of narration.Because of these special narrative modes,the "narrative" public murals are of great historical value,including cultural attribute and educational function,which promote the transmission of knowledge and the promotion of national spirit.Culture develops with the progress of political economy.In recent years,the rapid development of the city,the development of new media and other social factors have a certain impact on the "narrative" of the public murals.The public mural has gradually developed into a cultural content of the urban public environment.It has not only absorbed the excellent traditional culture of China,but also combined the spirit of the contemporary era with the humanistic concern.The contemporary fresco of "narrative" is an epitome of urban culture,a kind of urban image or cultural symbol,which not only contains the history of the city,the present,but also carries its future.At the same time,the reader's reading behavior makes the public murals interact with people,forming a special cultural relationship,and making the contemporary murals of "narrative" have the basic attributes of social culture.At the same time,the rapid development of society has put forward higher requirements for the creation of "narrative" of public murals,In the creation of fresco,the artist needs to put "narrative" in the first place,and achieve the transformation of the concept of "narrative" and the pursuit of the form of "narrative".On the one hand,the works should take the masses as the starting point,on the premise of inheriting and carrying forward the excellent Chinese traditional culture,better embody the national spirit and the spirit of the times.Insist on the true presentation,the promotion of good and the pursuit of beauty;On the other hand,the artist needs to do the personalized creation.Uphold the tradition,be brave to innovate,maintain a clear mind in the stream of virtual culture,adhere to their own pursuit of art.Living in the present,from the life to find their creative inspiration,so as to choose the subject matter according to local conditions,reasonable use of media materials to "narrate",to use this unique artistic form to express the inner world and social life of people.Make the mural works with aesthetic education,culture people,play a leading role in spiritual guidance and aesthetic education.
