With the economic globalization and China's becoming one of the formal members of WTO, the translation of accounting English is playing a more and more important role in our economic development. Accounting English is a kind of ESP (English for Special Purpose), so it enjoys a style of its own. Therefore the translation of accounting English are different from other kinds of translations such as literary translation. However, accounting literature translation is still in its starting stage. There are only a few scholars who have done academic studies on accounting literature translation in China. In view of the urgent need of systematic study of accounting English, and based on the findings of preceding researches, the author of this thesis attempts to make a more comprehensive exploration of the issue in translating accounting English literature.The thesis consists of the introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. Following the introduction, Chapter One introduces the present situation of the learning of accounting English in China, and presents past and present studies on C-E translation of accounting literature. Chapter Two gives a detailed introduction of the distinctive features of accounting English. Three areas of distinctive features of accounting English are presented with many examples, including lexical, syntactic and stylistic features. Chapter Three analyzes a large amount of authentic examples form authoritative works in detail. Through an elaborate analysis on the concrete examples, the author summarizes some useful translation strategies. The thesis concludes with a summarization of the whole thesis and based on the concrete case study in the main part of the thesis, the author points out the theoretical and practical value of this thesis.
