A Practice Report On The Translation Of Accounting Ethics(Chapters 6 And 7)

This practice report is to present an English-Chinese translation practice that I have engaged in.The translation task was assigned to me by my tutor,who was responsible for an activity of translation and I was put in the group whose work was translating Accountant Ethics,a book systematically discussing the ethics of professional accounting,the principles and rules of ethics,and illustrating the cases of listed companies in U.S.I undertook the translating of the sixth and seventh chapters of the book.My Chinese version was accepted and I have learnt a lot from this practice,finding that it is worth making an analytical summary of my gains.The report is divided into five chapters.The first chapter describes the source,content and requirements of the translation task.The second chapter deals with the whole process,including pre-translation preparation,translation process and post-translation revision.The third chapter details the preparations before translation,including the preparation of translation tools,the stylistic analysis of the source text,the reading and analysis of parallel texts,the unity of terminology and the familiarity with the translation standard of the social science text.The fourth chapter is the core of this report,making a full case analysis of the translation of terminology,words,sentences and text based on the abundant professional vocabulary and long sentences characteristic of the social science text and in accordance with the translation standard of such texts.The analysis focuses on the application of translation methods of sequencing,inverting,splitting and synthesizing to the translation of long sentences.The fifth chapter is the summary of what I have learnt from the translation practice.I realize that a lot of practice is needed for me to become a qualified translator.
