China has been witnessing the establishment of various kinds of enterprises under the circumstance of the globalization of economy and deepened development of reform and opening up.In order to hold a place in the international market,enterprises need to gain the recognition of consumers through observing a set of complete management system,which conforms to the related accreditation standards.This is a translation practice report based on the Standards for AACSB Accounting Accreditation from English to Chinese.This report describes a translation task entrusted by the college of Economics and Management of Tianjin University.The translation of this report can help the college of Tianjin University further get familiar with the processes and requirements of accreditation.With the completion of the task,the reporter combines functional theories of translation with the translation text for the purpose of analyzing main points,difficult points and confusing points in the translation process.The skopos theory is the core concept of functional theories of translation.“Translation methods depend on translation purposes”.(Reiss &Vermeer 1984)The skopos theory proposes that translation requirements are decided by the initiators of translation behavior.Translation requirements include expressive,informative and operating functions.As a practical writing,this report is featured by utility,standardization and time-effectiveness.Vocabularies on teaching activity design,conditional sentences,passive sentences and compound complex sentences appear a lot in the source text.These vocabularies and sentences bring difficulties and challenges to choice of meanings and word order adjustment.Therefore,under the instruction of functional translation theory,translation practice was guided by the translation requirements on practical writing's features to ensure translation accuracy and standardization in order to obtain satisfactory results.
