The twentieth century saw the decline of U. K. Liberal Party, which has brought forth great disputes among many scholars. The definition of the Party includes three elements: firstly, it stands for one class; Secondly, it shall have political guiding principles, i. e. the political Party's policies; and lastly it shall have nobly political goal or belief, that is to become the ruling Party. Among the three elements, class is the foundation. Only when there is a solid foundation can another two elements be developed, meanwhile the two elements can play a big role in class foundation. The decline of the Liberal Party has various reasons: The diversity of the Liberal Party's organization led to multiple considerations of the comprehensive class interests when policies were made. The First World War seemed to be an external factor, but in fact the transformation of policies led to the separation of some class in the Party. The rising of the Labor Party resulted in entire separation of working class, which shook the basis of the Liberal Party. The United Kingdom is a parliamentary country. Voting was the privilege of the Lords in early Britain, and the ordinary people were confined to voting. This situation was in favor of the Liberal Party. Things have changed from 1832, and the mixed constitution was transferred to modern democratic constitution. The civilians have got the right to vote. So the Party may get huge pressures from the ordinary people, because the ruling party should be responsible for the voters. Otherwise the supporters will change their position to support their rivalries. Thus, the decline of the Liberal Party was inevitable.
