Exploration And Analysis On The Interior Environment Design Of Hotel Artrium

The embryonic form of the atrium has already appeared in the old architecture thousands years ago, but the modern one just has appeared several decades. In 1967, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Atlanta, U.S.A, designed by an American architect John Portman, was completed, and then it became the first architecture of hotel atrium throughout the human's history. As the technology and the material develop, the form of the hotel atrium becomes more and more various.In this paper, the author firstly point out systematic understanding and notion of the concept of the hotel atrium design. And then, he expounds the significance and technical security of the design, preparing practical basis for the following chapters. Chapter Three is the key part of the paper, analyzing the key element and basic skill of the design. It includes the design of space environment, physic environment, beautifying landscape, colors, displays and so on. Chapter Four is the part which analyses the practical examples. By analyzing the well known hotel atriums, the author combines the theory with the practice better.By the analysis and research, the author expects more systematic knowledge of environment design, initially sort out the basic methods of environment design of hotel atrium, providing some references of our environment design of hotel atrium.
