There is a close relationship between oral English learning strategies and language communication competence and the application of the oral English learning strategies affects the cultivation and formation of language communication competence. Therefore, special emphasis on the research of oral English learning strategies can not only advance the theory research of foreign language teaching and learning, but also have great theoretical and practical significance in improving students' learning methods and effect.Based on the existing literature, the dissertation summarized the theoretical development of language learning strategies and researches on oral English learning strategies, utilizing literature consultation, oral tests, questionnaire survey, report etc. to find out the overall oral English learning strategies used by English major students in vocational and technical colleges as well as the use frequency of each kinds of oral English learning strategies. Furthermore, Investigation on 15 good oral English learners and 15 weak ones are conducted so as to find out the similarities and differences of each oral English learning strategies. The results are as follows:1. In terms of use frequency of overall oral English learning strategies, the mean of the study is 2.896.2. The sequence of the use frequency of each oral strategy order from high to low ranking is communicative strategies, social strategies, met-cognitive strategies, cognitive strategies, and affective strategies.3. Concerning the difference between "good spoken English learners" and "weak spoken English learners" in using each oral English learning strategy, it is apparent that the high achievers used some strategies more frequently than low achievers.In the end, the necessity of strategy training in oral English teaching is emphasized and the weakness of the research and feasible proposal were proposed.
