A Study Of The Daoism On Taiping Jing

Taipin Jing is an early Daoism book. It absorbed kinds of fashionable thoughts in Han Dynasty, and founded a Daoism theological system. Firstly, it structured a set of world view including divine heaven, lower world and human society. Tianjun has absolute power in heaven, controls up and down of gods, and rules all things in whole world. There's darkness and non-light in lower world. Out of body (shijie) and flying up to heaven are two modes from human to god. Fourthly, doing well and accumulating merit are basic of practice. Tianjun likes kind person and action, hates monster and evil. So human hard to make benefaction will be affect Tianjun. Tianjun would be give man protection and mercy. To obey well is Tianjun will. Good is consisted of filial duty, obedience, loyalty and faith. Man must do well before practice. Fifthly, it's most important among all method of becoming god on TaipingJing that a man keeps his born condition including sprite, the way, air and body center. Anther methods are meditation, absorbing gas (shiqi), embryo breath (taixi), eating tonic (yinyao), taking magic figures (tongue), confession and reading scriptures and so on. Only holding a permanent hard practice, a man will become a god. In a word, Taiping Jing sets up a foundation for foundation and development of Daoism by the theory and method about becoming god.
