Research On The Application Of The Paper-materials In Packaging Design

With the development of commodity economy and the increasing fierceness of sales competition, packaging has become one of the major marketing strategies for many enterprises. Not only consumers can benefit conveniences from a high-quality packaging design, but also producers can share its significance for sales promotion. Packaging design is a systematic undertaking. The development of packaging can be influenced by many factors, such as: the shaping of the product, the utilization of materials, the processing etc. Paper-materials has many advantages, such as: the richness of the raw materials, the high printing quality, easiness for synthetic processing and industrial production, convenience for transportation, low cost, low weight and the recycle of its waste. Because of all these, paper-materials are widely used in various areas, such as: food, pharmacy, commodity-packaging. In recent years, the total volume of paper packaging materials in demand has been increasing rapidly, with the improvement of People's daily lives and the ever increasing awareness of environmental protection.This thesis is mainly concerned with paper-materials, focusing on the application of paper-materials in packaging design. Firstly, this thesis analyzes the development process of paper-materials, the features and its categorization. Mining paper-materials characteristics of artistic expression, and summarized the existing type of paper packaging products, functionality, design and other issues. Secondly, this thesis will analyzes and summarizes the problems regarding the application of paper-materials in the packaging design based on the market analysis. Thirdly,considering the concept of green design, focusing on the application of paper-materials in packaging design. This thesis will also discuss the ways of perfecting the design of paper-materials, advocating the green packaging schemes. In this way, we can establish the overall green design from the designer's perspective of how to standardize the design materials. From the project design, we begin to concentrate on the broad aspect of the package design, based on the starting point of"green design". Using the concept of sustainable development, green design, to guide the design process, through analysis the five aspects as design, materials, structures, processes, recycling to optimize the packaging design.Lastly, based on the sustainable development concept in design idea, this thesis to explore the paper-material in packaging design and application development from as space structures, creative language or cultural continuity. Intended to stimulate designers feel is not only intuitive and easy to use, but also to build the original property of the paper, a new feature to the deep understanding and grasp, designers should be conceived from the perspective of materials, they must be good at discovering and using paper-material based properties. According to the connotation of packaging design, art design and materials into the performance as a whole, as an independent materials to emphasize the paper's aesthetic elements and presented in packaging design, and a deeper level with the use of paper-material to explore their aesthetic property. In the design concept for the paper-material on innovation in packaging design to provide more possibilities.
