Paper Food Packaging, Green Design Study

In recent years, "green package design" is becoming more and more popular in packaging industry. Green package is based on environmental protection and human health. It excavates renewable and recyclable package materials. The development tenet of green package is to conserve natural resources and reduce energy consumption, and achieving sustainable development of the earth is the ultimate aim.China is at a very important stage of accelerated industrialization, paper packaging industry also strides forward as a supporting industry. Using paper package for food is one-third of the entire food package materials in our country. As a connection of food companies and market, package designers play a crucial role as bridge in practice of green packaging promotion. Designers should early consider coordination and integration among package model structure, material environmental protection, printing production and facilitating circulation, and they also should focus on envirmental protection and human health of food packages. Those professional issues are the focus for food package designers in further research. The key point of this paper is depth discussion of reduction concept in food package design and nessary mark of green package for food, therefore designers could really get depth-involve in all key sections of green packaging. Designers should macro-control all design elements on multi-level and multi-angle and make organic integration, and the concept and functions of green package for food should to be integrated perfectly to entire industrial producing of package, so the design could have more time effectiveness and controllablity and viability to aviod slogan concept is better than actual practice. Green package design provides the most feasible, quantifiable and sustainable design mode for achieving energy conservation, development of low-carbon economy, building a harmonious society and building a resource-efficient society.
