Gottlob Frege, one of the fathers of modern logic, rejects the psychological tendency towards the study of logic at his time; he distinguishes'being real'from'seeing something as being real'. He refers to "being real" as the subject of logic, analyzes'truth-seeking'on the basis of the logic of formal language, and constructs his unique Theory of Truth.Frege argues that the truth, as the subject of logic, is the ontological concept of principle, cannot be reduced to more simple concept; Truth only fits to judgment sentences, and lies in the form of them; it is the abstract objective existence just like thought; truth is studied through logically analyzing sentences and their components,Through logically analyzes the meaning and connotation.of sentence, this dissertation demonstrates Frege's unique line of truth-seeking, shows the importance of the method of his Theory of Truth to logic and philosophy of language, elucidates the important function of his Theory of Truth for us to study the origin and characteristics of modern logic.Frege's Theory of Truth still has some theoretical difficulties; he thinks that it is impossible to define the central idea of philosophy of logic, so only takes semantic account of it intuitionally. Doing so leads to inadequate demonstration. He believes that thought can be grasped, but doesn't illustrate how to determine it false or true. In addition, there are some contradictions in his discourse about the relationship between thought and truth.
