However, each language has a different form of expression for quantity category. For example, Chinese language, particularly modern Chinese has a significantly complete and complex measure words. Some language doesn't have any type of measure.Although Chinese and Korean are different from each other, Korean also has some measures. Korean and Chinese measures are both similar and different in their characteristics. This study refers to a container measure, as a kind of measure words in Chinese, and analyzes the difference with the Korean language. The measure is a kind of word developed lately in Chinese history. For a long time, it hadn't attracted scholars' adequate studies or notice. In 1930 to 1940, people began to have an interest in the importance of measure as a distinctive feature of Chinese, as Chinese linguists turned their attention to the character of the grammar.Similarly, a study on the container measure as a kind of measure words hasn't obtained any linguist or philologist. It was just belonged to a broad range of measure words or defined as one of small units in subcategory of them; it wasn't involved to a notion of measure. Recently, it was recognized as a measure and whipped up the scholars' interest as deepening of study on Chinese measure. Nevertheless, their professional or in-depth studies are still insufficient. Therefore, this study investigates mainly current studies on the container measure and existing problems for them, and then analyzes some issues about its features, the meaning of the grammar, the relation between container measure and noun, the character of the speaking, and its reclassification.In addition, this study compares and analyzes a corresponding kind of words (a measure) between Chinese and Korean. It allows similarity and difference in the character and meaning of their grammar, and the character of their speaking to be analyzed.
