Opera "Savage Land" is a magnum opus of the third climax in the developing history of Chinese opera. It succeed for it's a big challenge for players to shape the role or sing. There is a complicated character-relation in the opera, and here mentality is disordered. Meanwhile, it gives to the audience a real-life and artistic vivid role in the stage. Mother Jiao is the investigative task in the article, and basing on the gut, probing into the role shaping and singing, the article has several parts as follows:In the foreword there is the researching intention, significance and present investigation situation of this subject.The first chapter mainly give a presentation about the play of "", the creating background of the music, the gut, and the character relationship.The second chapter mainly expatiate the role shaping of the character from three aspects such as:the contorted mental evolvement of Mother Jiao, the complicated and changeful characters, and the theatrically conflicting roles relationship.In the third chapter I mainly made an analysis about the role orientation of the aria and the vital arias in the gut. And here there are my viewpoints too.The conclusion chiefly made a sum-up of the role through combining the sentiment through reading literatures with my practical play experiences.
