| Cesar·Franck (1822-1890), the famous composer, organist of 19 century in France, has made great contributions to the renaissance of French music and the development of world music. His outstanding works were written in his late fifteen years, and the most important of which was his instrumental works. "Symphony in D minor" is the only symphony written in his late years, which marks another great achievement of French symphony after Berlioz. The paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter analyzes the composition characteristics of music from the presentation and development of the main theme in each movement. The second chapter summarizes the use of harmony in this symphony. The third chapter analyzes the composition characteristics of the work in terms of the tonality arrangement. There is not only classical tradition element and romantic technique features in Franck's music, but also the development of his own distinct characteristics, which have played a significant role in promoting the development of world music. |
