As an agglutinative language,Korean is famous for auxiliary and termination. The connecting suffixes, especially the various usages of the multiple and synonymous ones, have been nerve-racking for Koran learners. For example, the causal connecting suffixes include(?), (?)which are subtly different in meaning and usage. It has been a great challenge for the Korean as a second language learners to distinguish and grasp those connecting suffixes.Theoretically based on contrastive analysis and error analysis, this paper focuses on the high frequency connecting suffix(?)and(?)which is of high error frequency. This paper consists of four chapters.Chapter one introduces the objective and methods of this research, and reviews the previous literature in this field.Chapter two generalizes the meaning and usage of(?)and (?),and contrastively analyses their similarities and differences.Chapter three categorizes the error types of connecting suffix and works out the causes of the error. Based on the results of the error analysis of (?)and(?),some pedagogical suggestions have been provided for the teaching of connecting suffix, namely, the application of error analysis in the teaching context. In Chapter four, a teaching model of(?)and(?), theoretically supported by PPT,has been proposed. The conclusion sums up this paper, and points out the unaddressed field and the possible direction for future research.
