An Experimental Study And Error Analyses On The Thai Learners' Acquisition Of Stops And Affricates Of Standard Chinese

As China and Thailand having more and more close contact on economic and cultural fields, more and more Thai people begin to study Chinese which brings a "Chinese hot" trend in Thailand. But Thailand learners have many problems in the acquisition of standard Chinese, especially in the acquisition of stops and affricates. In the pronunciation of Chinese the Thailand learners seems can't ignored the interference of their mother tongue. At present, the experimental phonetics study on the Thai students'acquisition of stops and affricates is very short in the academic circles. This paper will try to use the empirical research method to analysis the acquisition of Thailand learners in terms of the stops and affricates.This article comprises five parts:The first part is "foreword", which is explaining the reasons why I choose this project, and introduced the related research achievements,the research content,the study method and the significance of this project.The second part is in terms of the experimental data, and based on the Thai students'acquisition of stops and affricates when they pronounced the one-syllable of Standard Chinese. It is analyzed the acoustic examples such as the voice onset time (vot),aspiration length, vowel duration and so on. At the same time, I made a comparative study of it between the Thai learners and local Chinese learners, which can let me hold much more information about the Thai learners on this problem.The third part is in terms of the experimental data, and based on the Thai students'acquisition of stops and affricates when they pronounced the two-syllables of Standard Chinese. It is analyzed the acoustic examples such as the voice onset time (vot),aspiration length, vowel duration and so on. Through the comparative study of it between the Thai learners and local Chinese learners, it is much more convenient to get the information about the pronunciation overview and bias case of bi-syllable Mandarin.The fourth section is the bias case analysis and corresponding Suggestions. Through the result of the second and the third part of the this article, and contrasting the pronunciation characteristics between Chinese and Thai language, It is try to from the place of articulation and the manner of articulation to analysis the bias case of Thai learners'acquisition of the stops and affricates of Mandarin.The last part summarized the whole thesis, and points out its short comings.
