As one of the key representatives in Frankfurt School of Western Marxist , Herbert Marcuse created the Eros Liberation Theory ,which came from the integratition of Marxist and Freudian Psychoanalytic Theory. He wished to find the road to liberation of mankind, through analyzing and evaluating the problems in industrial society. Through unscrambling the theory, he tried to tap the deep thought and show the heavy academic value, and to explore the critical significance in life.In times of Herbert Marcuse's living, Material life has been highly developed. Most people have already ratified the existing state, seeking for value and emancipation of the road has been forgotten. In his theory, the people's liberation will be realization in the nature of the liberation. After analyzing freud's psychoanalytic theory, erotic has been considered as the human essence. He believes that history is the change and repressed history about human nature. From the marxist theory of civilization, He think that it's the cause of alienated labour. Work as a basic human erotic activities should get emancipation. Finally, he offered that one should establish the liberation of the repressive with the method of perceptual liberationto get the true liberation. Although there has been a lot of deficiencies in his theory, his analysis and criticism about industrial society have had the most instructive meaning.
