A Study On Marcuse 's Eros Theory Of Eros

As an important representative figure of western Marxism, Marcuse absorbs and draws the instinctive points of Freud’s psychoanalysis, and makes a supplement and modification to Freud’s theory. In the contemporary developed capitalist society, with the continuous improvement of science and technology level, which caused the repression to human’s nature. This kind of redundant repression is surplus repression, it is caused by the alienated labor, Eros is the essence of human, and labor is the most basic activities of Eros, that is to say, we must eliminate the alienated labor so that we can achieve the emancipating of Eros.Without doubt, we should found the deficiencies and limitations in Marcuse’s Eros thought, but his analysis and criticism in contemporary capitalist society is worth to think, and it is also worth using for reference to China which is in the position of the rapid economic development time.
