Following the Land Reform, the Agricultural Co-operative Movement----another social change led by the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) made a broad and profound impact on the rural areas. The completion of this campaign had not only brought about major changes in rural production relations, but also had a significant impact in all aspects of rural society. With the help of this campaign, the CPC smoothly led hundreds of millions of Chinese farmers to the road of socialism, and had successfully achieved the transition from individual economic of farmers to socialist collectivized economic. How to understand this change has been an important subject. In 1940s, the Agricultural Production Co-operatives in Shanxi Province had gradually developed from the Co-operative Movement. After the establishment of New China, according to the relevant documents under the policy of the CPC Central Committee, Shanxi Provincial Committee actively explored and summarized these experience and practices of developing production organized by farmers on the basis of specific conditions of rural areas. The committee led the farmers in the co-operative way and provided valuable experience for the national socialist transformation of agriculture.This paper is just on this movement and will investigate the development of the regional history at the macro context. Combining the way of overall consideration and individual analysis and subjective factors and objective reality, it will reproduce the historical scene of the Co-operative Movement comprehensively and in detail.
