Researches On Chen Zhian's 《Nan Hua Zhen Jing Ben Yi》

Chen Zhian's "Nan Hua Zhen Jing Ben Yi" is an important work explaining "Zhuang-Zi" in Ming dynasty,which has not been studied thoroughly. As a typical Confucian scholar-officials, the study of Chen Zhian's life, friends, the style and spreading of "Nan Hua Zhen Jing Ben Yi" which composed in the end of Ming dynasty is valuable. The major theoretical contribution of Chen Zhian's "Nan Hua Zhen Jing Ben Yi" is that it focus on the "Zhuang-zi" text to solute "Zhuang-zi" in its emphasize of Zhuang-zi's "original meaning". He believes that "Zhuang-zi" has a perfect system without other's works mixed in. The Wai papers and Za papers are explanations of Nei papers, and also the papers could explain each other. Each paper of "Zhuangzi" has a theme running through so the "original meaning" could be seen from the context. It's a great progress in the history of study in "Zhuang-zi" that trying to exclude those individual factors and it works well. Chen Zhian offeres to explain "Zhuang-zi" by "my heart" under the influence of Shingaku,and he believes that good character is necessary for understanding the Zhuangzi's "original meaning".Chen Zhian proposed the says of "Worship of Confucius" on the relationship of Chuang and Confucianism. He also proposed the says of "Keeping the Spirit" on the explanation of "Strolling in freedom" which has the tendency to Confucianism. Meanwhile, Chen Zhian made the understanding of Taoism on Zhuangzi and "Chuang Tzu" and quoted many books of Taoism. "Nan Hua Zhen Jing Ben Yi" is a valuable work since it has many Weak points as the limitation of the time and the ability of Chen Zhian. It's Of great significance on the study of Chuangzi in Ming dynasty to research the way of "Nan Hua Zhen Jing Ben Yi" explaining Zhuangzi.
