ObjectiveTo identify the present situation and the characteristic among middle school students' Internet Addiction Disorder in Shenyang, and to explore depression, family functions, parental rearing pattern on IAD for the evidence of the prevention and treatment.MethodThis research object for the whole group extracts 8 middle schools from six grades altogether 3452 students in Shenyang. To base on IAII score≥50, there are 459 students for IAD group, and 462 students for control group, IAII score<50. The measurements were used: self-designed questionnaire tools for general information, IAII, SDS, FAD, EMBU. All of the analyses were performed using SPSS13.0 software.Results1.13.7% incidence can be defined as IAD according to IAII from 3452 middle school students.2. There was significant difference between IAD group and control group in sex, school type, family environment, the internet site, net age, net games, Internet chat (P< 0.01). Grade, only-child or not, net age, place has no significant influence between IAD group and control group (P>0.05). The network gets online every week into IAD group time was significantly higher than control group (P<0.01).3. The results of depression demonstrated that IAD group has higher scores control group (P<0.01). Family function scale showed that in addition to communica-tion and behavior control, problem solving, roles, affective responsiveness, affective involvement, general functioning factors showed significant difference between IAD group and control group (P<0.05). Parenting styles scale showed that father's rejection of deny, mother's punishment factors showed significant difference between IAD group and control group (P<0.05), mother's emotional warmth factor was higher in IAD group than control group (P<0.05). Parenting styles scale showed that father's emotional warmth, father's punishment,parents excessive interference, parents favoring subject factors showed no difference between IAD group and control group (P>0.05).4. Whether by IAD as dependent variable, screening out the single factor analysis of 12 factors for Logistic regression analysis, independent, the results of gender, school type and depression, emotional involvement, mother interference protection, weekly online time for risk factors and mother's emotional warmth for Protection factors. Regression equation, Y=-0.569+0.521X1+0.378X2+0.889X3+0.630X4-4.096X5+3.456 X6+0.060X7,χ2=36.055, P=0.010.Conclusion1. The incidence of Internet addiction disorder was 13.7 percent from middle school students in Shenyang.2. Internet addiction disorder exists gender, school and family type of differences, the male's incidence was remarkably higher than the female's, general secondary schools'incidence was remarkably higher than Key Middle schools', and Parents student incidence was remarkably higher than single parents student.3. The risk factors of Internet addiction disorder was Gender, school type, depression, emotional Involvement, mother's excessive interference factor, time online weekly, and mother's emotional warmth factor was protective factor.
