| The paper takes Chinese and Thai modifier, the attribute and the adverbial modifier as the object of the study. The writer employs Contrastive Analysis in the paper.The writer compares modifier between Chinese and Thai from the component parts of modifier, the order of individual modifier, the order of multi-item modifier, as well as the usage of structural particles in modification-center structure. The conclusion is that there are many similarities and differences in modifier between Chinese and Thai languages.Based on analysis of Chinese text book"Experiencing Chinese", the paper shows that teaching modifier is important in primary stage of teaching Chinese as a second language, especially teaching individual modifier and two-items modifier.Based on questionnaires, this paper examines the effects of differences between Chinese modifier and Thai modifier on Chinese modification-center structure learning through Chinese learners in Thailand. The main results of this study show that there are consistent effects on Chinese learners in Thailand in modifier learning. That is, the items of modifier are less,the mistakes which Chinese learners make are less.And the items of modifier are more,and the mistakes which Chinese learners make are more.According to the differences between Chinese and Thai on modifier and the troubles in Thai students learning Chinese, the writer gives some advices and teaching skills to the teaching of modifier to Thai students. |
