Chinese modal particles have rich meanings, and those meanings are flexible in using,so Chinese modal particles are difficult for overseas Thai students to learn. The reason of choosing acquisition study of Chinese modal particles for overseas Thai students as the subject of the paper is that there is no such kind of study has been down before, and we are hoping that this study can provide some useful advises and references in Chinese modal particles learning and teaching for overseas Thai students through the research of overseas Thai students’Chinese modal particles error analyzing and acquisition order ranking.Based on An outline Ranking Chinese Vocabularies and Characters, the paper focus on 6 modal particles:A(啊)、Ba(吧)、La(啦)、Ma(吗)、Ma(嘛)and Ne(呢)The study is started withing error analysis of language material that contains 6 modal particles which gathered from corpus, and then get the acquisition order of 6 modal particles and their meanings by listing using frequency,accuracy rate and the using frequency difference between overseas Thai students and Chinese native speakers. After getting the overseas Thai students’ acquisition order, we compared this order with Japanese and Korean overseas students’acquisition order. At last we provide the teaching advises based on the study before.The conclusion of this study are as follows:1. The error types of overseas Thai students in using Chinese modal particles are misadding,omission,misuse, mis-order, avoid and character error. The type with most error sentences is misadding. The reason of the errors are effects of mother tongue, target language and teaching material.2. The acquisition order of 6 Chinese modal particles of overseas Thai students’ is:A((啊)>Ba(吧)>Nel:呢)>Ma:吗)>La(啦)>Ma(嘛).3. In the acquisition of Chinese modal particles for overseas Thai students, they are facing three main difficulties. One is the modal particles have similar meanings, one is the Chinese modal particles have the meanings that cannot find match modal particles in Thai, the last one is the rules of Chinese modal particles using together with special clause and modal adverbs.
