On Poetry Theory Of Weng Fanggang

This paper mainly probes the poetry thoughts of Weng Fanggang, and analyzes the core, features, historical significance of his poetry theory.In the past, the academic circles mainly focus on the"texture"of Weng's poetry thoughts, and the materials are from the"Fuchuzhai Works", such as"On Verve","On Pattern","Study on Poems"and so on. Proceeding form the"texture", this paper aims to bring a overall light of Weng's poetry thoughts by the interpretation of the"texture". But the researching scope is more extensive, in addition to analyzing the"Fuchuzhai Works", this paper also researches the"Shizhou Poetry", so we can get a whole understanding and evaluation of Weng Fanggang's poetry thoughts.This paper consists of preface, three chapters and conclusion, briefings of which are as follows:Starting from the summary of the history and current situation of Weng's poetry thoughts, the preface raises the researching orientation and the creation of this paper, and illustrates the value of the topic.The first chapter is"Texture: the core of Weng Fanggang's poetry theory". This chapter is to reveal the motive, the theoretical sources and the profound meaning of the"texture", to indicate the meaning of texture theory. In addition, this chapter also explains the importance of the learning in the texture theory system.The second chapter is"Study on Poems: the inchoation of Weng Fanggang's poetry theory". This chapter mainly probes the Weng's study on poems, and shows his inheritance and development of Jiangxi poetry faction. Weng Fanggang thinks that the poem creation has native methods, but opposes to stickling them, empathizes the modifications and use of the native poetry methods. Because Weng Fanggang attaches the importance to the rich content and the native poetry methods, so he especially appreciates the poetry methods of Jiangxi poetry faction. The third chapter is"Elegance and Vulgarity: the vision of Weng Fanggang's poetry theory". In Weng's poetry criticism system, elegance is in the primary position. He emphasizes that poems'langue, artistic methods and the style should follow the classic standard. For elegance as the standard, Weng analyzes and appreciates many poems;"Shizhou Poetry"is the product of this process.The last part of the paper mainly analyzes the influence of Weng Fanggang's poetry theory.As the chief of Northern China poetry circles in the period of Emperor Qianlong and Jiaqing of Qing Dynasty, Weng Fanggang had double identity, so he had many followers of his own times. This shows that the dominant power of the official literary thoughts. Therefore, the studying on weng's poetry theory has important significance to the understanding to the literature and academic thoughts of the Emperor Qianlong and Jiaqing of Qing Dynasty, and has positive significance to the research of the inheritance and development of ancient Chinese poetry.
