Weng Fanggang was one of the important representative scholars in Qian-jia period,which reached the academic peak of the Qing Dynasty.He was a prodigy of learning who read widely and was so diligent about writing that he left a large number of works and writings in Classics,poetry,epigraphy,bibliography,calligraphy and many other fields.He also wrote a lot of inscription involved many areas.In the number and breadth of inscription,Weng Fanggang is not only rare among the peer scholars,but he may also be the individual scholar in many dynasties of Song,Yuan,Ming and Qing.This paper use Weng's inscription as the research object,discussing the main reason why Weng Fanggang was so passionate about inscription and how the inscription as a way of social interactions present in Weng's writing.I hope this can be helpful for further research of Weng Fanggang.This paper is divided into two parts.The first part consists of three chapters.The literature review mainly introduces the present research status of Weng Fanggang,and it emphatically points out that the present academic research about Weng Fanggang has two dimensions,namely one is the management and publishing of Weng's works and manuscript in succession and the other is for discussing Weng's academic ideas.It is a remarkable fact that the studies about Weng Fanggang concentrate mainly on his poetic theories,epigraphy and textology in which Weng Fanggang had a high academic achievement.On this basis,it describes the main concern of this paper which tries to explore the personalized writing of Weng's inscriptions and socialized communicative activities from a kind of outside dimension.The first chapter does some research about Weng's inscriptions from the point of view of stylistics.It traces the origin and development of the inscription,pointing out the stylistic characteristics of inscriptions in the history of literature development.It also has a overview of inscriptions in the Qing Dynasty,when the Han school in classical philology and the textology rose and flourished.Just under such a background,the inscription became one of important methods to conduct academic research for scholars at that time,so the inscription creation of Weng Fanggang is a kind of specific rendering and detailed demonstration.The second chapter does some research about Weng's inscriptions from the point of view of Mo Yuan,which shows the religious and mysterious sense between scholars and calligraphy to some extent.The phrase,Mo Yuan,frequently appears in Wengis inscriptions,and the author thinks that it is no accident.This chapter firstly traces the start-up and development of this phrase,then puts the phrases such as Mo Yuan,Wen Zi Jing Ling and relevant vocabulary into categories.At last it explains the belief of respecting and cherishing Chinese characters and paper,which was very popular at that time.According to this,it is observed that Weng Fanggang had a strong sense of mission for writing inscription.The third chapter does some research about Weng's inscriptions from the point of view of"swimming in arts".Weng's inscription creation is not isolated,and the inscription is beyond the meaning of literary style,as the influence of social intercourse play an important role in Weng Fanggang's literary creation.This chapter tries to explore social significance on Weng's inscription from the tradition of "swimming in arts" and"Yi Wen Hui You".The second part consists of three chapters.It mainly involves collenction and textual research of Weng's inscription.
