1991-2001: The Evolution Of "Lu Xun Tradition"

In Lu Xun's cultural history of the 20th century, there is a phenomenon of double construction. While participating in China's construction of social thought and culture, Lu Xun is also being constructed into a kind of"Lu Xun discourse"——"Lu Xun Tradition". As a term,"Lu Xun Tradition"itself is difficult to be defined. It's an open dynamic discourse structure. Over half a century after Lu Xun's death, the State Ideology and the Intellectuals are the important constructive subjects of"Lu Xun Tradition"all the time, and their contents of discourse change with the times. But there are new changes in the 90s of 20th century. This thesis investigates the evolution of"Lu Xun Tradition"between 1991 and 2001 by the way of combing the data. This article attempts to make an overall consideration for the fate of"Lu Xun Tradition"throughout the complex phenomenon of thought and culture. Within the scope of the State Ideology, Lu Xun's"Political Holo"is no longer so strong as before 90s of the 20th century, who mainly provides economy with the source of spirit. As a split within the Intellectuals and external alienation(mainly State Ideology and Mass Culture), the humanistic discourse of Lu Xun is of degeneracy gradually. While traditional discourse structure of constructive subjects changes, the Mass Discourse of Lu Xun is prospering quietly.
