Research On Influence Of Cyber User Gender Difference In Information Era

Cutting-in from the research on female-oriented websites and based on theories of social gender consciousness, this article gives a gradually analysis on the impact of such factors, namely, the development of cyber technology, society and economy and different regional economy, on the cyber community, and extend to a further issues of the influence of social implication released by the above-mentioned phenomenon on the gender difference of cyber community, then followed by a discussion on the trend of social gender difference in the future—a scientific prediction for the structural change of network user and its gender difference in China under different time and space. The whole article was made after a comprehensive display on both domestic and other foreign counterparts'research achievements, especially the latest issue of IDU(International Geography Union) and combined the statistic date gained from surveys with factual evidences (sampling from websites scattering in different domestic regions, questionnaire for female and male network user and local social and economic situations) then processed in accord with the principle of mathematical analysis and statistics. Several main conclusions are reached in this article. First one is that the gender difference of cyber community is closely related with popularization of network technology--the more advanced, the more similar proportion of gender tends to be. The second one is that, from a macro-aspect, the network pervasive degree not solely depends on the advancement of technology itself, but the level of economy as a whole. The third one is that gender difference is influenced respectively by the exact social stage in certain country timely and the exact regional economic difference spaciously; therefore, the gender difference of cyber community has a direct relationship with change of time and space in certain country. The forth one is that the scope of Internet application and amount of user displays a dramatic trend of expansion and the gender difference in cyber community is gradually diminishing due to the expansion of application area, new occupations brought about by it and the narrowing gap between urban and rural area.In conclusion, an in-depth research on influence on gender difference in cyber community under different social time and space will widen our horizon and discover potential problems in the process of economic and social development from a new angle.
