A Study On The Valence Of Mutual-verb In Shiji

Mutual-verb is a special class of verbs,it have special semantic features, and reflected in syntactic form. but the study on this area is limited in modern Chinese. Shiji can basically reflect the charecters of the Western Han Dynasty's language, And there are a lot of mutual-verbs in it. Therefore ,we choose mutual-verbs of shiji as research subject .To apply traditional research methods and valence grammar to study ,So as to do some reaserch on all syntactic form of mutual-verb,mutual-verb's ability and those constituents's semantic character.It consists of five parts: Chapter I is an introduction , introducing the relevant theory and research background. Chapter II to comfirm the identification of the mutual-verb in shiji and how to use the valence .Chapter III classifying mutual-verbs and statistics of its frequency of occurrence. Chapeterâ…¥refers to the study of different kinds of sub- mutualverbs, and summary their forms. Chapter V summarizes the syntactic form of mutual-verb, and ancient and modern mutual-verb's patterns were compared.
