Model particals are one of the most important ways to convey emotions in chinese .Foreign students often feel diffculte to acquire them,and also it is one of the weaknesses in the teaching.This paper choosees some tipical model particals–"吧,吗,啊,呢,的,了"to study.We set out an extensive investigation on these model particals among foreign students,and collected errors.These errors were analyzed and categorized. And then we explain teaching strategies accordingly.Most of us have a misunderstanding of the nature of model particles,explain diffently when the language environment changes.We think every model particle must have a central meaning.When it meets diffent context,it appears to change. On our research,we think,the central meaning of"啊"is"ease the mood";"吧"is"not sure about the context of the speech,and let it to be determined by the listener";"呢"means"reminding",when it is used in a question,it means"get to the bottom";"的"means"truly like this";and"了"is to strengthen the tone. The usage of"吗"is simplier in comparatively speaking. We shouid hold the viewpoint of"the central meaning",and to build Chinese modal particle systems. Systematic teaching is necessary from the perspective of the acquisition of model particles. Especially in oral chineae teaching and listening class,modal partical should be paid more attention.
