Since the 1960s,with the proposition of teacher professionalication,the reform for the world-wide teacher education has changed to advance in the direction of teacher professionalication and it has been practicing along the line of teacher professional development. In 2001, China carried out a basic education curriculum reform, the reform adopted the materials from the course objectives, course structure, course content, learning methods, curriculum evaluation, curriculum management and other aspects of the content of new courses.new curriculum reform not only provides teacher with professional development opportunities and challenges, but also further boost the process of teacher professional development. Normal universities regarded of training teachers,should be taken for granted to shoulder the respensibility for teachers'training. while the curriculum is the core of the training of teachers Teachers Colleges, which ses up a direct impact on the pros and cons of the quality of teacher professional development.This paper is divided into four parts:Part one:First is the problem and current research of curriculum for music teacher. second is the significance of the study and research methods;third is on the development and music teacher education and curriculum concept.Part two:First,this paper explores the basis of studies of music teacher.education curriculum;from philosophy,psychology and pedagogy;second,it demonstrates guiding plan curriculum,training porpose teacher professional development and the requirement for the setting up of this curricum.Part three:Fist,there is a comparation analysis and investigation on the status quo of curriculum for music teacher in three normal universities of JiLin province.The questionnaine for students and the talk with teachers are sepenatedly designed from the three aspects of teacher professional quality such as professional knowledge,professional skills and professinal attitudes,and analyzes each answer from the inuestigation,At last,acconding to the analysis of the the result,from the nespective of teacher proffesion development,the author makes a contusion for the shortcomings existed in curriculum.Part four:Indicated in the aboue discussion of research,and combined the investigation of the results, the music teacher education curriculum has made initial constraction.This paper, using research methods such as the literature, questionnaire survey method and comparative analysis.relying on the thcory of teacher professional development ,by the analysis of subordinates in Jilin Normal University, provincial colleges and local colleges music teacher education curriculum,combining with university students and primary and secondary school music teacher survey feedback datas, identifies the deficiencies of the current music teacher education, colleges of higher curriculum, and then based on the theory and practical curriculum,it proposes a strategg for optimization of Music Teacher Education curriculum for Normal University in order to provide theoretical and practical basis for curricum setting for music teachers in normal universities.
