The students in the senior middle school period are more and more maturing in physiology and mentality. They are confronted with pressure of College Entrance Exam so that parents and teachers pay more attention on their scores. However, there are a lot of elements affecting their study results in which the self-esteem of students, self-consciousness, causal attribution, and interpersonal relationships should be more concerned. The subjects of the research come from the students in the second grade in high school. The research is based on the theory and practice of our predecessors and provide the self-esteem Inventory (SEI) And Multiple dimensions-more Causal attribution Scale (MMCS) tests to students in order to have a knowledge of features of student's self-esteem level and Causal attribution. Moreover, the research also combines them with their study performance to explore the correlation between their study performance, self-esteem level and causal attribution, and put some useful proposals in view of it.Research Results:1,There are no sexual distinction about self-esteem level of high school students. However, different living situation, various schools lead to remarkable differences in self-esteem level of high school students from different schools. The test demonstrates that the senior middle school student's self-esteem level is superior to ordinary senior middle school and free middle school.2,Senior middle schoolboys and schoolgirls have obvious difference with standard on some latitudes in casual attribution. They prefer to attribute performances to study ability, study efforts, efforts on relationships and relationship situations. Different from schoolboy, school girls are prone to attribute study to ability and efforts. There are also remarkable differences between high school students from three kinds of high school. Compared to the students of famous high school, the students from ordinary high school are more prefer to attribute study to luck and situation, which is called external attribution. The students from free high school tend to attribute study to efforts, which is called internal attribution. There are no differences between sexuality and schools in relationships attribution.3,Senior middle school students performance is very relative to the self-esteem level in the same way. The better the one who show high scores in study, the higher his high-esteem level. One's study performance is relative to one's study situation in a contrary way. The one who attribute study to study performance often gets poor scores.4,No matter whether the senior middle school student is men or women, their success or failure in study is often related to the study situation and luck. Schoolboys prefer to their study performance to ability and efforts. But Schoolgirls prefer to attribute success to their efforts and attribute failure to their ability.
