From Narration To Spectacle

As a whole, visual culture has always turned into the main power of popular culture, so it's inevitable that the contemporary film is experiencing the visual turn which is from the narrative mode to the spectacular mode. However, the research concerning the visual turn of contemporary movie is relatively limited. Therefore based on a large amount of film cases from both home and abroad, the paper not only explores the positive effect of visual turn of the contemporary movie, but also investigates the existing problems in the process of visual shift of the film. In addition, the author also puts forward some suggestions about how to promote the development of film culture in the context of visual propagation, aiming to form a kind of systematical interpretation on the"spectacular movie".
