Costumes of various kinds of ethnic minorities are display of spirit, Which not only manifested the national dignity and pride, but also proved a nation's cultural relations. Costumes of various ethnic minorities are daily necessities, It always gives people in the cold and warm feeling, at the same time, synthetize into the religion, totem worship, social status and identity of different classes and a series of cultural and aesthetic characters, thus demonstrating nation's natural creativity, and special art forms of people described as a harmonious relationship with the nature. Though the travel of national minority area's practice investigation and hard study, deeply I felt that the national minority clothing contains the drawing value is need for unearthing and using for reference. In this paper, by a brief description of China's ethnic minority costumes, shape, color, design patterns, various elements in harmony with clothing, to the specific application of the minority subjects in painting portraits painting, by creative practice and summary of the individual national dresses Painting the feasibility of expression and to give recommendations.Chinese oil painting portraits has a significant historical meaning and cultural accumulation, development has been coming to mature. But with the coming of the information age, the change of mass psychology, development and creation in the transmission of oil painting portrait oil painting in particular, a new attitude should be displayed boundless vitality and splendor. In today's oil painting, the theme of the novel, the idea of the special production of sophisticated, different kinds of styles, tools and also materials of new development has enriched the expressive painting, practicing a new kind of style of portrait painting. Meanwhile, style, themes, creative idea, performance with traditional and modern ways of communication to us also proposed to the real test. Stylized ways, a tend towards to decoration, special fabric production, newly materials, new techniques used and draw on the traditions of Western art, etc., though in today's oil painting, showing a kind of boom, but it also highlights many works by the impetuous wind.In a word, the contemporary Chinese oil painting portraits is moving towards the future, it should like be in the traditional ties of blood and the national spirit under the completion from the traditional to the modern transformation, with the open of artistic vision, development should be in a view of modern western painting as well as other forms of artistic expression to keep a certain distance, does not get take-ism nor impetuosity, holding the purity of own development, to avoid the loss of their own personal artistic language. In a short word, we should only through capacious and profound culture of research and learning, value traditional values under the view of the minority culture and art as well as folk arts and culture, essence, abandoned its dross to absorb and learn from other culture and tradition, improvement of contemporary oil painting portraits of the development, so portrait painting show more new times, nationalism, and keeping the purified, and towards to the development, in an open and absorb the approach.
