《Lin Lan Xiang》is a realistic novel between《A Dream of Red Mansions》and《Jin Ping Mei》,And it has various values and takes an important status in the novel history .With《Linlanxiang》as the original text, the dissertation attem make a systematical study on the composition and features of words. There are three parts in the dissertation. The first part is an introduction, including the significance of the study of double-syllable words and three-syllable words. In addition, the criteria of delimitation of words and phrases in《Linlanxiang》. The second part consists of eight sections. The main content is the classification of all the double-syllable words into 7 types: coordinative compounds, subordinate compounds, verb-object compounds, subject-predicate compoundsm, supplementary compounds, affixations compounds, reduplications. The dissertation makes a further study on the features of double-syllable words one by one based on the quantitative analysis and gives a static description of the composition of double-syllable words from such aspects as Semantics, structure and sentence order. In the end of this chapter, the conclusion has been drawn in the feature of double-syllable words in《Linlanxiang》. The third part makes a study on the features of three -syllable words one by one based on the quantitative analysis and gives a static description of the composition of three-syllable words from such aspects as Semantics, structure and sentence order. The fourth part arrives at a conclusion of all the double-syllable words and three-syllable words in《Linlanxiang》. The fifth part is correcting the term loss of incomeina Chinese grand dictionary by some words in《Linlanxiang》.
