Research On The Lexis Of SanSui Ping YaoZhuan

This thesis will take all words of SanSuiPingYaoZhuan as research objects. All the words are divided into three parts in terms of syllable: monosyllabic words, disyllabic words and polysyllabic words. The quantities of the three parts are made statistically. The combined modes of all polysyllabic words are analyzed. Neologisms and new meanings are also described. Generally speaking, the monosyllabic words of SanSuiPingYaoZhuan account for about one third in whole vocabulary. Most of the nouns in modern Chinese language can only be morpheme, and monosyllabic verbs and function words are also in the very high frequency of occurrence. Some monosyllabic words are still on the way of changing. Word-building methods and modern Chinese word formation are basically the same way, such as Lianhe mode, Pianzheng mode, Zhuwei mode, Dongbin mode, Buchong mode and Fujia mode etc. Lianhe mode and Pianzheng mode are two main word-building methods among them. The overwhelming majority of these compound words are nouns and verbs. In addition, this paper also discusses the neologisms and new meanings.This thesis uses modern linguistics, lexicology theory and synchronic description and adopts the metering method to carry on systematic research to glossary of SanSuiPingYao Zhuan.
