A Study Of The Canonization Of "Wang Gui And LXiang-xiang"

Liji's long narrative poem,"Wang Gui and Li Xiang-xiang"is one of the important Yanan literary works. This thesis aims at tracing the formation, transmission and canonization experience of the poem, interpreting how and why it came into being and was classicized. On the one hand, there is literary significance in the study of the way the readers accept"Wang Gui and Li Xiang-xiang"and the attitude they hold towards it; on the other hand it provides a reference for the contemporary poetry writing.The thesis comprises three parts including the introduction, body and conclusion. The introduction is about the research trend of the poem. The body consists of three chapters. The first chapter covers the history and the current development of researches on the poem, touching on the writing purpose and its significance; the second chapter is a close study on the canonization of the poem; the third chapter analyses factors contributing to canonization of the poem. The conclusion summarizes the theme and the realistic meanings of this thesis .
