Application Study Of Dialect In Chongqing Newspapers

Newspaper has its own specific language form, which is a kind of standardized language based on Putonghua. In recent years, dialect is popular in the field of mass communication. Dialects appear in the news in various newspapers. This study analyzes the application of Chongqing dialect in Chonging Daily, Chonging Evening News, Chonging Morning Post and Chonging Economic Times, in terms of the following three parts.The first part is a brief introduction to Chongqing dialect. The definition of dialect, description of the partition of modern Chinese dialects and introduction of the characteristics and distribution of Southwest Mandarin which Chonging dialect is attached to, is included in this part. This part highlights Chonging dialect from three aspects, namely, the fragmentation, characteristics and current changes.The second part analyzes the present status of the application of Chongqing dialect in newspapers in Chonging, based on the vivid and witty Chonging dialect used in newspapers. This part summarizes the specific location of Chongqing dialect in Chongqing newspapers, quantifies the numbers of Chongqing dialect words, sums up words with high frequency, and discusses Chongqing dialect in the perspective of part of speech.The third part mainly focus on the background of the application of Chongqing dialect in newspapers in Chongqing. At first, this part explores the impact of economy and culture on Chongqing dialect in terms of the relationship between economy, culture and language. Then the audience background of Chongqing dialect in Chongqing newspapers is analyzed according to three aspects, the audience to be satisfied mentally with self-identifying, the diverse market demands from groups of audience with different social backgrounds and the audience's psychological need of being regarded as the native.This study investigates the application of dialect used in Chongqing newspapers, with reference to the theories of journalism, mass communication and linguistics. The author believes that it is necessary to use the dialect in Chongqing newspapers, while the intelligent and proper use of the dialect is important for get a better result on newspaper communications.
