Research On The Promotion Of Sustainable Economic Development Through Technological Progress

TechnO[ogical progress is the motive power of the sustainab1e economic development.With a combination of theoretical and positive analysis, of qualitative and quantitative analysis,of micro-mechanisnl study and industria1 policies, this dissertation discusses ful1y thecorrelation between techno1ogical progress and sustainab1e economic deve1opment 'and thestrategies and measures for promoting China's technological progress as we1l as the re1atedissues. The paper consists of four parts. Part I outlines the contributions of technologicalprogress to sustainable economic development and discusses the theories concenling theirre1ationship. Part II analyzes the achievements made by technologicaI progress in economicdevelopment in the United States and Japan, and their imp1ications fOr China. Part lII analyzessystematicalIy both the situation of China's technological progress and economic deveIopmentsince the founding of the People'S RepubIic of China, and the factors of the system, theenvironment, and the capita1 which restrain CI1ina'S technoIogical deve1opment. Part IVsuggests and fu1Iy demonstrates the strategies and lneasures for promoting China'stec11nologicaI progress.
